Privacy policy
AdminShark is a life-admin tracker made by AdminShark (adminshark.app). It is built around one principle: your data is yours, and it stays on your device. This policy explains what that means in practice, and describes the one exception — advertising — honestly.
What we collect
Nothing. AdminShark has no accounts, no registration and no sign-in. We do not operate a server, and the app never uploads your information anywhere. Everything you enter — vehicles, renewal dates, insurance details, warranties, subscriptions, costs, notes and service records — is stored in a local database on your device only. We cannot see it, and neither can anyone else unless they have access to your phone.
Photos
You can attach photos to items in the app, for example a photo of a service invoice or a warranty receipt. These photos are saved in the app's private storage on your device. They are never uploaded or shared by the app.
Backups
You can export your data as a backup file at any time. Backups are created only when you ask for one, and the resulting file is handed to you through your device's standard share or save options. Where you put it — a file on your phone, your own cloud drive, an email to yourself — is entirely your choice and under your control. We never receive a copy. Restoring a backup is equally local: the app reads the file you select and nothing more.
Advertising
AdminShark is free, and ads pay for its development. The app shows ads through Google AdMob, and this is the only network feature in the app. When an ad is requested, Google may collect device identifiers (such as your advertising ID), IP address, coarse location derived from it, and ad-interaction data such as views and clicks. This collection is performed by Google under its own policies, not by us, and we receive no personal information from it.
You can read how Google handles this data in the Google privacy policy and the AdMob data practices documentation.
You can reset or limit your advertising ID at any time in your device settings: on iOS under Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking and Apple Advertising, and on Android under Settings > Google > Ads (or Settings > Privacy > Ads, depending on your device).
What we don't do
- We do not sell your data — we never hold it in the first place.
- We do not run analytics, crash reporting or tracking of our own.
- We do not share your information with third parties; the only third party involved is Google AdMob, as described above.
Notifications
Reminders are scheduled locally on your device using its built-in notification system. No reminder data leaves your phone, and you can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.
Data retention and deletion
Because all data lives on your device, you are in full control of it. Deleting an item in the app deletes it from the local database. Uninstalling the app removes the database and all attached photos. Any backup files you exported remain wherever you saved them, under your control, until you delete them.
Children
AdminShark is a general-audience app for managing vehicles, insurance and other adult life admin. It is not directed at children, and since we collect no personal information, we knowingly hold none about anyone, of any age.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy — for example, if a future version of the app adds an optional sync feature — we will post the updated policy on this page with a new effective date. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
Governing law and contact
This policy is governed by the laws of New Zealand, including the Privacy Act 2020. If you have any questions about it, or about how AdminShark handles your information, email us at [email protected].
